Although Hachi started his early musical training on piano, his interest in music didn't limit him to stay only on one instrument. Soon, in high school, he was into playing guitar, sax, and electric bass. In Waseda University where he graduated from, Hachi was a major accoustic bass player in Jazz band and started to perform professionally. In 1997 he joined a tour with an European trumpet player Dusko Gojkovic and recorded 2 CDs with his band. Now he stays as one of the most demanded bass player in Japan who not only associates with many Japanese musicians but also is a bassisst on call for many American musicians including David Mathews, Eric Alexander, Criss Potter.

After graduating from Chiba University, Dairiki's professional career in music started early and fast. Immediately he became a major figure in the music scene in Japan, playing for many TV/Radio shows, and studio works. In 1987 he moved to Boston to study at Berklee College of Music where he acquainted with many great musicians such as Antonio Hart, Johua Redman and continued performing in many Jazz clubs aroung Boston area. When he moved back to Japan he joined Yoshiaki Miyanoue & Smokin', Jo Yamada Quartet, Seiji Tada Quartet, then the trio lead by Junko Onishi who is his college mate during Berklee days. With Junko's trio, he gained great amount of performance and recording opportunities that includes, but not limited to, Montreux Jazz Festival, Montreal Jazz Festival, and one week appearance at Sweet Basil in NY. He now continues to be one of the busiest drummer in Japan who works with many piano trios, such as Manabu Oishi Trio, Yuki Arimasa Trio, Junichirou Oguchi Trio, Satomi Kawakami Trio, just to name a few.
